Blog Status Update

Gomen! >.<

First off, a dozen apologies for the loss of images on every post. As some of you may know, Photobucket no longer supports hotlinking unless you pay them a subscription fee of $400 per yer. Which is fuckin’ ridiculous.

Not the fact that they’re charging (every image hosting site does it eventually) but that hideous amount they’re charging.

Anyways, I plan to reupload them elsewhere and replace the links. It’ll take some time and I don’t know what I’ll do if that hosting site chooses to follow Photobucket’s example but I’ll decide later when/if that does happen.

Again, truly sorry to all those who come to read these posts and see no pictures there. I know it’s not fun to go through long walls of text, especially if they’re mine. Urgh.

As for my current posting schedule, I really do feel bad for leaving this blog hanging for…omg, pretty much a year already. I’ve been lite blogging on Tumblr since it’s easier to balance with my work and school that way but it’s not the same since it’s less formal than writing on wordpress.

*sigh* Well, until I fix all the ones published thus far (thank god there aren’t a lot of them), I guess I’ll have to postpone the drafts I’ve been working on. I also plan to take a slightly different direction with this blog after some contemplating (i.e. more periodic manga chapter theories/analysis than anime episodic ones, at least) but for the most part, everything else remains unchanged.

So we’ll see.

Sailor Moon Crystal: Death Busters Arc – Short Thoughts

So, the third season of SMC has ended and now we await the news for Dream Arc to be greenlit. If it has, I haven’t checked yet.

Will it happen?

Yea. Knowing Toei, it will.

Will it be better than this arc?

Proooobably not. Of course, everyone to their own but the Infinity arc is generally thought of as the best of the five arcs and for a number of good reasons. It wouldn’t be impossible to try and top that with the Dream Arc but given how, er, lackluster SMC’s third season was in comparison to the first series’ third season, despite it being a major improvement over SMC’s first two seasons, I suspect the quality will be around the same. Maybe with the story a step down from the bar the Death Busters plot has set… unless you don’t mind Chibiusa sharing more of the main role with Usagi. Which I don’t cuz I love Chibiusa and therefore, absolutely adore the Dream Arc.

But I’m rambling. Back to Death Busters.

Kiznaiver Climax: Assessing The Good, The Bad and The Worst

Tfw you realize that Gomorin was once a cute lil’ cat plushie.

Oh, the horror I’ve seen…

Really, though, it is sad. At least when Gomorin wasn’t so dark, its weirdness was still cute. Now, it’s just disturbing watching them march on to inflict pain on the world. In the name of “happiness” of all things. *shudder* I still want one, though.

Anyways, that’s not what I’m going to discuss here. We’ve got less than a week 24 hours before this show ends so it’s a good time as any to review the status of the major characters. By that and the title I’ve given for this post, I don’t mean their moral standings or their latest approval rating from me…well, that’s not entirely true cuz I do have some criticisms for some of them. But what I’m looking at is the state of their relations with each other.

In the end, after all this is over, how many of them will want still want to stay together? How many of them will want to walk away more than they want to stay together?

This is such a delicate matter at the moment that Noriko couldn’t have chosen a better time *insert sarcasm* to put everything to the test so that we can find out.

As for me, I’m going to try my best to be as practical as possible while going into each of their cases.

Go! Princess Precure Impression: Ep. 47-50 [FINAL]

Very late. Been very busy. Need a vacation.

See, this is why I cannot stand Toei.

They have it in them to do the most amazing things with their work yet they always fall short of reaching that point because they’re too afraid to break that ridiculous status quo that they set for themselves. They keep messing up what otherwise would have been a very balanced story with those unnecessary adjustments to keep everything within their outdated comfort zone. It’s like you can’t have one without the other. I can’t love a Toei production without hating Toei and I can’t always say Toei is bad because I’m more than likely going to find something to love among all the crap they do.

Why do I have to put up with this grief?! Ugh!

*sigh*

Good. Now that I got that off my chest, I can properly close this book on Go!Pri.

Just so there’s no misunderstanding, this was indeed a very great season, all flaws aside. I doubt we’re going to get another that can deliver on par with what Go!Pri gave us (at least in overall quality for the next few years) so while I have moderate hopes that Mahou Tsukai Precure and future successors can bring something interesting to this table, I’m going to keep my expectations low so that the standards set by Go!Pri don’t ruin my enjoyment for the following seasons. Of course, this is just my opinion and it’s not like Go!Pri raised the bar so high that it can’t be reached (unlike Heartcatch, which is my true fave) so there’s not that much to really stress over about. If we get something good, then it’s good. If not, then look forward to the next year.

Now, onto the finale!
